Private 1:1 Classes

The optimal opportunity for being assessed and instructed on the engagement and training of core muscles using modified Pilates techniques. Clients who have been referred for spinal stabilisation will be seen as one to one only until they reach the level when they can join the group classes.

This form of class is also highly recommended to those who have never been individually introduced to Pilates and/or have not yet had an opportunity to discuss their areas of weakness, discomforts, sports performance and their exercise goals. In a private class, a client benefits from focused guidance through exercises and the programme is graded and entirely constructed to client’s abilities and needs.

Semi-private Classes

2 people in a class within the same performance level and similar goals.

Small Group Classes

Max 5 people in a class. This is the most popular class with the most committed spirit of all and it’s often taught in a group of friends or family.

Ante- and Postnatal Classes

Specially designed Pilates classes for pregnancy and post delivery period with an emphasis on engaging your core through pelvic floor muscles and maintain the fitness level if not working towards moderately improving it. Postnatal classes gradually take women through the recovery stages and aids them to return safely to their physical activities that are high impact and require endurance such as running, tennis, cross fit, boot camps ... Prior to ant and post natal classes individual assessment is essential and on these individual findings we will be designing the programme addressing your postural re-alignment, breathing and strengthening that is necessary for promoting pelvic health (and avoiding symptoms of incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic pain, sexual dysfunction).
Exercises are modified to maximise the comfort and safety of each stage in pregnancy and postpartum.  Research has shown that core strengthening is effective way of preventing and treating pelvic girdle pain in childbearing year and is recommended by Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Pelvic, Obstetrics and Gynaecological Physiotherapy.

Biljana is passionate about her speciality in Pelvic Health and she will  be talking to you more on that subject in her blogs.

1:1 Antenatal class at home

BKPT runs the luusmuus Postnatal Pilates class

The Postnatal Pilates class is run by the Pelvic Physiotherapist and APPI (Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute) Master Trainer in Women’s Health. This is a wise investment in musculoskeletal recovery post-birth and gradual, safe return to more endurance and high impact based activities.

The Pilates class will work in line with physiological changes in the postpartum period and address the abdominal and pelvic floor recovery following childbirth. Pelvic floor exercises are an integral part of the class and new mums will be educated in pelvic health and breastfeeding.

Specifically chosen Pilates exercises will aim to enhance the healing times and motivate new mothers to commit to exercise by overcoming one of the most known barriers to exercise – childcare! Babies are part of this class up to their crawling stage, and breastfeeding and changing nappies are just part of the workout.

Pre-class screening is essential! All new mums will be assessed, monitored and guided in cases of pelvic floor dysfunction, Rectus Diastasis (abdominal muscle separation) as well as back and pelvic pain.

It’s fun and full of fit growing babies and empowered, happier mums!

Please contact Biljana Kennaway, Pelvic Physiotherapist at for the pre-class screening.
